That despite the Country being in complete lockdown for close to 3 months, UPRERA has to manage to clear most of its backlog. That as if today the Hon’ble Authority has heard more than 2400 cases post the lockdown through the means of Video Conferencing which is the new way of life for all of us.
Cases heard and disposed off
That since the lockdown was uplifted the UPRERA Authority has taken extra steps to ensure that earliest hearings are granted in all pending matters and has also aimed at early disposal of all. That out of total 30,956 Complaints registered so far, the Authority has already heard 24,026 Complaints so far. And of these, some 5,115 complaints were filed by buyers in Gautam Budh Nagar in 2020 and 1,454 have been disposed of this year itself. As per the Officials at Authority New Year is to start with the pending 6,930 cases which are pending.
That since 18th May 2020 the Authority started with online hearings and since then all benches have hold Court in order to hear matters at the earliest.
Conclusion
That the act of UPRERA in terms of holding Court regularly through online means and to showcase disposal as well is commendable. That this has helped thousands of aggrieved homebuyers to seek justice despite their being pandemic. That it is hopeful that all other RERA Authorities across Nations will take inspiration from such act of UPRERA and will also seek early disposal of matters.
