Registration Goes Hectic As Gst Portal Down

Thousands of business people trying to get the registration of Goods and Services Tax (GST) are facing a lot of trouble these days. With the migration of existing registered businessmen, for the new registration, the load on GST of GST opened on June 25 for gst.gov.in is so much that the site is being open very difficult. If the site opens after a long exercise, then any network link error occurs after clicking any link.

In the second phase of registration, till June 15, around 3 lakh VAT registered businessmen in Delhi had obtained the enrollment number, while the remaining one lakh got the provisional ID-password. With this ID password, these businessmen are logging in from the portal on June 26, while the Enrollment seekers have uploaded the requested documents and are trying to download the registration number and certificate.

Complaints of portal slowdown started coming out from the traders on Tuesday morning. A member of All Delhi Computer Traders Association said, “Many of our members have been enrolled and they got the application reference number (ARN) too. But to upload some documents, they are trying out since Monday morning but have not got success. The same situation is also for the first time that the traders and some traders coming to the realm of GST are also in the business. His sweat is getting rid of the new registration.

However, for new registrations, businessmen will have 30 days to be statutory, but existing registered traders are required to go to the new tax regime with migration as well. This will enable them to take input credit on their closing stock and to carry the refund easily. An official of the VAT department said that so far, 3.79 lakh traders have been given the passenger ID passwords, out of which around 3 lakh have got ARN and most of them are in the migration.

By 30th June, the traders receiving the preliminary GS-TIN will be considered GST registered from July 1 and their tin will also be made permanent. Since the GST Act is being implemented from 1st July, therefore, only present registration can be obtained. GSTN officials did not respond to queries related to portal slowdown, but a CBEC official said that with the registration of the migration, there is a lot of pressure on the portal due to the new registration. While a large number of cancelled registrations are taking new registrations, the first time the traders who come in the tax regime are also trying for new registrations.
