The country moved one step ahead in realizing the dream to roll out GST successfully from 1st April 2017 ,as the council on thursday finalized the GST tax rate to 5%, 12%, 18% & 20%, a four tier tax structure.
Central and state government arrive at consensus and finalized the four-tier rate structure. Essential items including food will be taxed at Zero rate, the lower rate would be for common use items, highest rate would be for luxury and demerits goods and 12% and 18% would be the standard rate.
