The investigation started few months ago when a bunch of buyers filed a complaint with the EOW for alleged fraud in the project Erath Skygate located on Dwarka Expressway.
300 cases in the matter of incomplete projects and more than 3,340 complaints of buyers relating to more than 722 projects under Uttar Pradesh RERA.
A workshop was organized by MLA Medha Kulkarni on RERA titled A new era of transparency and accountability in Real Estate” which was related to the problems faced by the cooperative housing societies
Finally, the Real Estate regulation and Development Authority of Punjab has woken up to the plights of homebuyers. The Greater Noida bench of the UP-RERA heard 31 complaints all against a Noida-based developer that has failed to deliver three projects in the past 10 years
The newly formulated UPRERA bench at greater Noida will become functional from 4th September and already has 4000 complaints filed with them for adjudication. All advertising about real estate projects should have all necessary details such as name of the promoter and the project, RERA registration number and start and completion date.
Implementation of RERA is to secure justice for the homebuyers; that now all authorities are coming to full functionality in states all projects should be covered under the Act.
At present there are more than 4000 projects and 600 real estate agents being registered with the HRERA authority. Though the registration will not affect the remedy and a complaint can filed against any developer.
An awareness camp will be launched by the state RERA authority in order to make the consumers aware about the buyer’s rights under the Act.
