The Ministry of Corporate Affairs had earlier limited initiation of fresh insolvency proceedings for a period of 6 months which now stands extended to 1 year.

Period of two years is kept keeping in mind the fact that such reduction will give life to the real estate and people would show more interest in immovable property.
