Data scan to be planned by GST Network to identify tax fugitive

With already 10 million taxpayers registering themselves on Goods and Services Tax (GST) Network i.e. GSTN. The IT backbone of GST regime is planning to initiate the process of mining data to detect tax evasion and analyze taxpayer behaviour.

GSTN will hover a request for proposal (RFP) from data analytics companies to analyze data after meeting Central and State government officials and understanding their requirements.

The data analytics providers will build an interface between the data and the tax authorities to help the latter detect tax evasion.
