RERA Authority Bihar directs police to take strict action against Builders

The Chairman of RERA Bihar Mr. Afzal Amanullah recently sent a letter to the state government urging them to direct all the police stations in the state to ensure that all sign boards advertising about real estate projects should have all necessary details such as name of the promoter and the project, RERA registration number and start and completion date.

The goal behind this is to ensure that all prospective buyers have complete information with respect to the project before thinking of investing. The letter also states that other branches of the law enforcement agencies such as the economic offences wing should be roped in order to get hold of fraudulent developers who showcase false information on their websites.

Further, a single window system for project registration should be put in place. Many developers have showcased their ongoing projects as new in order to evade delayed registration charges.

At present, RERA has extended the last date of registration of such projects till August 31 in which builders have to pay the original registration fee and Rs 4 lakh as fine for delayed registration.
