The Real Estate Regulatory Authority in Karnataka has come under fire from the aggrieved home buyers who have been left at the mercy of the builders. The Real Estate Regulation and Development act, 2016 under Section- 84 empowers the state to make rules in furtherance of the Act in order to implement the provisions of the Act. The state of Karnataka enacted the state rules on 10.07.2017 and it has been a year since then but the homebuyers in the state of Karnataka do not seem to have achieved any relief so far under the implemented Rules. Many homebuyers are yet to receive their refund amount despite the RERA orders. The homebuyers are urging the Central and state government to help them in such poor implementation of Rules and regulations in the state.
