The newly formulated UPRERA bench at greater Noida will become functional from 4th September and already has 4000 complaints filed with them for adjudication. The four members of the authority will look at the Maharashtra RERA authority for example in order to ensure speedy resolution of complaints.
Maharashtra RERA authority ranks first in the country in terms of disposal of complaints and also in project registration. MAHARERA since its inception last year has disposed off 2,200 complaint out of which 80% were outside court settlements.
The model adopted by MAHARERA has proved to be effective and thus will act as an example for the newly formed UPRERA Authority. A RERA bench is crucial in western UP as almost 80% of projects in UP are situated in NOIDA and Ghaziabad.
